How to get here

Dovre is situated in the National Parks Region of North Gudbrandsdsalen, centrally located between Oslo, Bergen and Trondheim. The area is easy to reach by public transport.

Bus and train
Express busses from Oslo, Bergen, Trondheim, Måløy, Molde and Ålesund stop here several times a day.
If you wish to travel by train, you can take the Dovrebanen Line straight to us. The Dovrebanen line runs from Oslo via Lillehammer and Dombås to Trondheim. The stations in our area are Hjerkinn, Dombås and Otta. From Åndalsnes you can head east on the Raumabanen Line, offering wonderful experiences of the landscape from the train windows on your way to Dombås.

Car
From Oslo and the eastern part of Norway you follow the E6 nortbound from Oslo, through the Gudbrandsdalen valley directly to Dovre and Dombås. You continue on E6 in direction of Trondheim to go to Hjerkinn.

From Trondheim, you go on the E6 southbound through Oppdal and across Dovrefjell. Maybe you are lucky during the drive, and you spot the musk oxes along the route? First you reach Hjerkinn. Here you find Hjerkinn Fjellstue and horseback riding and Hjerkinnhus Hotel. Continue from Hjerkinn along the E6 to Dombås.

From the western part of Norway you have several alterantives:


• Are you coming from Sogn, you take the road rv. 55 over the Sognefjell mountains to Lom. From here road rv. 15. eastbound to Otta, then the E6 to Dombås.
• From Geiranger you take road rv. 63 to Grotli . From here eastbound along road rv. 15 to Otta. At Otta you turn left, onto the E6 to Dombås.
• Fom Stryn it is staight ahead along road rv. 15 eastbount through Skjåk, Lom and Vågå, until you turn right onto the E6 in direction of Dombås.
• From Sunnmøre and Romsdalen follow E136 from Ålesund or road rv. 64 from Molde.


When here, you may use the local buses, taxis or your own car.
